ABOUT US
Santo Niño Catholic Community (SNCC) is a church community that witnesses the Gospel of Christ in our celebration of the Mass, fellowship, and acts of charity.
We are God's People - a church community.
In 1 Corinthians 12:27, St. Paul characterizes this church as Christ's Body. "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." In this church, we are blessed with gifts to build and make it grow for the glory of God. "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11-13)
We are God's children in fellowship
In Paul's letter to the Romans, he declares that "for those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God." (Romans 8:14) Paul continued that, "the Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory." (Romans 8:16-17)
We are God's People doing acts of charity
Like the early Christian community in Acts of the Apostles, we exist to serve the weak and the needy among us. "In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’" (Acts 20:35)
In other parts of the Bible, we are reminded the value and importance of charitable acts in relation to God's kingdom:
"Be generous: Invest in acts of charity. Charity yields high returns." (Ecclesiastes 11:1)
"Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. "(Proverbs 19:17)
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
Hebrews 13:16
